This is yet another guide to help you backup your Battlefield 3 before you format your Pc and reinstall. I do not guarantee this guide will work for you, but as long as you backup your Battlefield 3 you can always try a different guide.
Backup:
1. Go to where you installed Battlefield 3. I installed it here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games
2. Make a copy of the "Origin Games" folder and put it somewhere safe (different hard drive/external). Also save the Battlefield 3 folder in your My Documents if you want to save your settings ect.
Restore:
3. Copy the backed up Origin Games folder to where you want Battlefield 3 to be. If you copied the Battlefield 3 folder that was in your documents then put it back also.
4. Download, install and login to Origin. Then click "Origin" at the top left go to "Application Settings" then "Advanced" then change "Downloaded Games" location to where you have put the Origin Games folder.
5. Close Origin and then open it up again.
6. Right click Battlefield 3 in your "My Games" section and click "Download" run though the setup and Origin should start downloading the files but it will go quickly because you already have the files, it will then start checking the files, once it's done you are good to go.
If you're getting Punkbuster issues, go to where you put the Origin Games\Battlefield 3 folder and run pbsvc, this should reinstall Punkbuster. Otherwise go to http://www.punkbuster.com/ and download it from there.
