How to set up Xbox Live

I think the real problem here is that you're trying to set up an Xbox (hint: Xbox) LIVE account on a PC (hint: not an Xbox).

Unless you mean a Games For Windows LIVE account?

If this is the case easy solution, just set your location to UK. :D thats what i did.

For xbox u just need a hotmail acc set to uk, for Games for Windows Live ur pc's location actually needs to be in the uk.

I don't suppose anyone here has Neotel and use's xbox live. I have Neoconnect Prime and having issues trying to get a connection going.

My xbox tells me it can't get an IP address assigned to it and I'm having no luck access the properties of the IPV4 and 6 inside for my LAN adapter.

I gave up on this. Basically my network card is fooked. Whenever I go into the properties of my network card it gives me a popup window saying that all properties have been disabled because another 'Properties Window' is open even though there isn't one. However, I think the problem may just be that I was connecting my xbox directly to my PC and not through a router.

So I'm going to give that a try this weekend.

It is possible to connect your Xbox through your PC, because I used to do this myself, running my Xbox via my laptop with an iBurst modem. You use the (admittedly horrible) built-in Windows Internet Connection Sharing function. You can try using this, but it's a bit of a pain to set up and it comes with its own problems. If you're using any sort of firewall software, this can seriously interfere with connecting to Xbox LIVE games online, since it'll block the service ports and incoming IP connection requests. There are also ways around this, but it's a bag of cocks.

Your much better option is to buy a router that can connect to a USB modem. It'll save you a lot of problems in the long run.
