Hi all,

Just wanted to let you know that me and a couple people are in the process of organising a 3500 man lan for next year, around June.

I am busy securing venue, infrastructure, sponsors, and prizes.

Just want to Gauge interest at this point.

Kind Regards,
Blaze`

Its will be 1 of 3 locations, I am just haggling with the venue's.

1 - Sandton City
2 - Coca Cola Dome
3 - Soccer City

So will be in JHB

Will last the weekend.

Will be hosting the BIGGEST HON comp in the southern Hemisphere.

Will also be hosting comps for SC2, COD4, BFB2, Quake 3.

I have already 4 confirmed sponsors, this event will be huge.

It will be at sandton convention centre, that is confirmed now.

Pwahaha well we will have pizza :p

Ok guys please post, things that would entice you that much more to come to the lan.

PLEASE No silly comments this is very important. Thanks inadvance.

do you have a website where we can read more about the event, like whose hosting it, whats on offer etc?

right accross the road from me, this sounds like a wicked idea/plan...

...any (rough) estimate of the cost for a seat?

Hey Wizdumb, Thanks, we are hoping to host the best lan ever :p

Hard to say this early, but no more than rage :)

More info on seating & sleeping arrangements + security will be appreciated.

I.e. 1st come 1st server, or can you book blocks/rows of spaces for you and your mate. And do you sleep at your rig or what?

I'm more interested on the 3phase load distribution and systems integration planning.

If say each PC runs off 800W for PC + screen, you're looking at 3.5MVA (5250Amps per phase on a 3-phase balanced system) of power for the PC's alone...not including switches/routers/etc.

Power is our main concern, we are using the sandton convention centre and they have a 3 phase system, from what I have been told power will not be a problem :D
