poor Cape Town takin some stick in this thread damn! The way I see it...dont walk alone in town centre at night...you'll get robbed...dont pay carguards...they're useless!

Hehe, I used to carry my PC case + CRT screen down Roeland street in CT @ midnight many a night. Nothing ever happened.
 
police came to took fingerprints of the car yesterday but only found 1 partial one outside due to the rain washing away the rest of it ! they didnt even bother to take any prints inside the vehicle.

That's an exercise in futility. Last time my car got broken into, the cop told me they could dust for prints but it probably wouldn't amount to anything. I told him not to bother, because the previous time my car got broken into, they did dust - and guess what? It didn't amount to anything.
 
Ow - the World Cup hasn't even started yet - and two groups of foreign journalists have been relieved of their belongings already.

Portuguese group got nailed in their Magaliesberg hotel yesterday - and a group of Chinese journos in Jo'burg. So guess what their first bit of event coverage is going to be. Awesome for us isn't it?

Damn man, you got insurance? The world cup is gonna be a balls up with all the crime. I heard a Portuguese journalist got robbed by gun point already.
