I like Halo Wars........

I bought the Halo Wars edition of the Xbox 360 Pro a little more than a month ago. Basically a Pro with Halo3 and Halo Wars bundled.

Immediately started playing Halo3 which took me about three days of steady gaming to finish. Afterwards I had a look at the manual for Halo Wars and was like: "Strategy game.....?? For a console........?? Pass!!!"

And there it stood...... waiting. Yesterday I was playing some Mass Effect (after I had finally connected my Xbox to my LCD monitor) but after a while I was in the mood for something else. I don't have that many games just yet so I decided I'd give Halo Wars a try. This was around about 18:00......... I finally managed to drag myself away at 00:15.

Who would've thought that a strategy game on a console would keep me as captivated as this.

Though its a very basic rts by the standards of C&C, Star Craft or even age of empires it works brilliantly on Console for exactly that reason. Its not weighed down by things that won't work on a console with console controls. It is also very much Halo, with the little Warthogs maneuvering like they do in any other Halo.
I have to confess i haven't played it since i bought it as alot of other stuff begged my attention but once i have a little more time i will get back to it.

I refuse to buy new titles at the crazy prices they're going for so I'm either going to wait for it to come down a bit or I'm going to do the rental thing at BT games. Either way I'm looking forward to playing it:)

That's exactly it. It's so basic it works perfectly. I'm not a big RTS fan, but I tell ya, I haven't had this much fun with an RTS since Warcraft3. :D
