Which is better the Coolermaster RS750-ACAAE3 GX 750w or the Gigabyte ODIN 720W?

Can I get suggestions thanks.

I'm not a big fan of either brand. depends what you are running and the wattage on the 12v rail on the basic level. And many other factors on a more detailed level.

Stay the f**k away from Gigabyte PSU's.. They tend to pop quite quickly. I would know from experience being in the IT industry.

Do you perhaps have any idea on how the Huntkey X7 900w performs?

It's 900 watts, supports SLI and Crossfire. Is modular and rated 80+ efficiency. Costs around R1300. Link

of the 2 posted i would go with the coolmaster - actually have never met anyone who used a gigabyte one

I have one in my system with a Crossfire setup. (Click my sig for pics of my rig :D) I have yet to have any issues. As I posted in another thread,

"I have a friend that reviews hardware as well, he tried blowing one of those Huntkey PSU's up with 3 x GTX 480's iirc, and was pulling 1100w off the wall socket.. He didn't blow the PSU in the end."

Huntkey stay away from bad news

That was probably the older models yes, but the new ones rock!

Probably the best angle of my setup. I'll take more photo's tomorrow after I do some cable manangement

I vote Coolermaster, stay away from Huntkey.
I'm semi-partial to Gigabyte.
My old media server had a Gigabyte in it... lasted pretty well. Then again, that thing was never under serious load...

I have had a Gigabyte PSU before and moved to Coolermaster. The best move i have made. I have had the CM silent pro 600w and now i have got a CM Silent Pro 1000w. I have oced and have had no problems. Ran SLI GTX460's no problems. Really cool PSU's!

When i am in Cape Town and finished moving i will add a 3D monitor or a 27" monitor. Don't want to get it now just in case it gets damaged in the move.

the old rig. With the Coolermaster 600w Silent Pro

Forgot to mention that these pictures of the new rig were taken before i thought to put the GTX460 in for Physx. Next time i open my rig i will take a pic and post it again.

I would advise you to stay away from either of these units, seriously. The Odins are worse than the GXs, but neither is really up to the standard of a true 700w+ power supply. You'd do better with a CX600 than either of these. If it was Odin GT or a SilentPro Coolermaster then it would be a different story, but read the reviews on those models before buying please. I've had an Odin blow up on me before.

I have to agree with this, stay away from the Gigabyte Odin PSUs, heard very bad things about them. I would personally recommend a Corsair PSU, but that is probably a little over your R1000 budget. Coolermaster has been suggested by a few people already, thats also a good choice :)

I linked to one Corsair PSU that was within his budget...the TX650. I reckon for r1k you can't do better here.

Sorry but the FSP model I can't find anywhere in this country :(
