I tried. I really did. But there is just no reason....

I might be mistaken here but is the PS4 not capable of putting out 4K? And is that not the equivalent of the release of Blu-Ray? Is that not "next-gen" enough?

I still wouldn't buy one though, as much as it kills me, 'cause there is no real benefit unless you have a 4K capable TV. Those are like, 200 grand or something. You'd just land up cramming your image into your 1080 frame which isn't ideal.

As a person whose ps3 blu ray drive just broke I will start saving for ps4 instead of spending 1500 on repairing imy ps3 .Gt6 am cry goddamit.

Consoles are super expensive at the moment, currently trying to win one (:P) or I'll wait for a good special in a few years.

When i saw the next gens at R@ge last year i even turned to my friends and said i dont see that much of a difference i really dotn think its worth forking out all that money for at all

I still feel that way to be honest, however having come from 6 years on the X360 - Consoles definitely have a simplistic yet fair method to matchmaking, which I always enjoyed in the likes of BF.

I think in time the devs will amaze us with a few titles as they learn the systems better. Just look at the PS3 and what Naughty Dog gave us. Some of the best looking games only came out in the last few years or so.

Regarding pricing, yes it's a bit high, but the PS3 was more at launch, so taking into consideration inflation and so, the PS4 is better priced. Sadly we do get screwed over here in SA. I don't even want to go into what the games cost! Guess I'll just be a lot more selective as to what I buy.

I think its still early days... The improvements will be seen in the years to come... Im going to be holding back and investing in a smart TV before a PS4 i think...

GTA V is proof of your claim, I just expected to see more 1080p stuff to be honest.

Even look at the PS2 and what the games were like at the beginning, and by the end we were getting games like God of War and GTA - San Andreas, which were spectacular compared to earlier PS2 games

Agreed... And yes i alos expected more 1080p stuff, but im pretty sure the majority from here on out will be full HD...

At present I don't think anyone should buy a ps4 because there aren't enough games and the price of games is ridiculous but in a year or two I would get it when there is a lot of games to choose from! So wait a year or two before buying!

I have done the same thing with all previous gen consoles wait a year or 2 when the hype and price is down by then there are tons of classic games for cheaper prices etc

My PS3 flickers, I would get a PS4 to replace the PS3... even if I do not use it for gaming...

Might just be your HDMI cable that's the problem. Mine sometimes goes off and on on my one TV but not the other, and if I fiddle with the cable or turn the cable around it comes right.
