So I saw this post on Google+ today and thought to myself: "I thought of this years ago!"

Then I thought, "I hope they make this happen". The reason for this is well since I am a gaming addict with no life to speak of, I just see another opportunity to game. I still think the quickest way to end a war is to put the top ranked gamers in the world into these machines and give them their objectives and put a score somewhere on the UI set them loose on whatever country the USA is targeting next to take control of they're oil reserves.

The only thing with gamers is they are going to bitch about the lag and if respawn times are too long they will stop supporting the game... Avatar project.

Yeah I saw that movie with Bruce Willis and found it quite intriguing.

But still image the possibilities of having a World Domination Championships... Countries holding a war decided by gamers and the losers country gets exploited in the good old capitalist way, first we destroy them then we rebuild them...

Problem is the world is over crowded as it is, this would mean even less people will die. It may just be me but that sounds like a bad thing. Also if the police/army start using it how will normal people be able to stand up. Imagine if the Libyan government had used this, would the rebellion have been so successful. As technology marches ever on towards the singularity these kinds of moral & ethical questions will have to be asked & answered. Sure in fiction humanity prevails at the end but thats just you stock standard happy ending. Id like to think that if this kind shit really went down humanity would get their spleens handed to them by our robotic overlords. Transhumanism is a debate we will soon all have to choose a side on.
