Ive finally decided to start on my new PC, its been a while.... since the last one i built was when P4 HT technology was the best of the best lol... Since i kinda missed the whole dual core/quad core evolution. I figured id jump straight to the i7, its gonna take me a couple months to get it together.. budget limiting so my firs component of choice, which should be arriving today is the intel X58SO motherboard. And secondly i will be going for the i7 920 2.66 ghz, what can you guys suggest in terms of 6GB tripple channel DDR3 ram kits, and graphics cards? Im leaning towards Nvidia as ive always used Nvidia ive missed out on alot so i want to make sure i make the right choice at the same time future proofing for a while at least..

You gotta have a kick@ss gfx card to match the rest of the hardware. Might as well wait for the GT300.

By the time you've purchased and installed the last component, it will be time for an upgrade :)

If i could id buy it all one shot i would... But i gotta live aswell:rolleyes:

Live for nothing. Or upgrade for something.

Well ill try and keep as current as possible at the time of buying the particular component Gfx will be the very last before peripherals. And im pretty sure the GT300's will come with pretty hefty price tag which will most probably be out of my price range but will see when the time comes i guess...

Yes, thats my intention. If i could id buy it all one shot i would... But i gotta live aswell:rolleyes:

Sure...but you could just as easily put the money away instead of constantly purchasing components through the months and then when you have all the money together purchase everything in one go. At that stage newer tech may be available at a better price and other components may have come down in price as well.

I would much rather do it that way ;)

Good point.. but Ive been down that road before.. id most probably find myself spending the cash on a nice new lens, or something.. Gaming and photography don't go to well together shits expensive these days at least this way i will follow through... any way a bit off topic..

Ok..so situation has changed a little.. board arrived today.. opened up the box to find not exactly what i ordered, there was some pegatron board so its going straight back... So its got me thinking is the i7 move a wise move or should i go for a core2 or quad? while i still have the chance??? What you guys think?

I use the following
Ram - Corsair Dominator DHX
Gfx - Ati HD5850. IMO GT300 would be crazy expensive when it comes out. And one can only wait so long for something to drop. But you never know, they might end up surprising us
