Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Remakes Confirmed

Classic Team Ico titles are being remade in HD for PS3.

Looks like the good folks at Walmart were right on with their listing of PlayStation 3 remakes of Team Ico's classic PlayStation 2 titles Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. Famitsu confirms the two games in this week's issue.

That's right, "two" games. The magazine has separate listings for the two games, so it looks like they will be released individually in Japan. Of course, this may not be indicative of Sony's handling of the products outside of Japan.

Famitsu confirms that the two games will be upped to "HD quality." But that's all the magazine says! The magazine also shares three screenshots of each game. We weren't able to get a close enough look to parse the screens.

Ico and Shadow share a packed two page spread with Team Ico's new PlayStation 3 project The Last Guardian this week. All three are listed as release date TBA.

We'll hopefully get more details at the Tokyo Game Show later this week.

Own the originals, but I am certainly keen on a remake!

ICO did not do that much for me due to the gameplay, but Shadow of the Colossus was A M A Z I N G !
 
Can't wait for this either, never played the games, but I heard a lot about them. I might actually get my hands on original PS2 copies of both games at the end of the month.
 
now if only they'd do MGS 2 and 3, somehow 1 and Killzone 1 i'd be one happy gamer
