IE 9 and Chrome doing really weird things on my bosses PC HELP!!!

Stop using IE.

Yeah I already shouted at him for that. What's concerning me though is that IE is still behaving badly and now so is chrome. I might have to flatten his laptop in the hopes that it fixes the problem.

I'm sure Chrome has an option to completely reset the browser? I know Firefox does and it comes in useful many a time.

Is it only these 2 browsers that are freezing up? Or are there other applications also doing the same?

It's only Chrome that entirely freezes. IE was locking up in certain places and the only other application that he uses is outlook which is fine.

I personally think your boss goes to dodgy sites quite often and that's where he's picking up these "issues". Since it's his right to go wherever he wants on the net (yikes) maybe he should make sure that he's at least got some anti-virus and anti-spyware/malware software installed before he does so. Or, is he one of those people who clicks on every single pop-up claiming to "install this urgently!" ? I really hope not, well, not if that person is also called my boss. That's a whole can of worms right there.

Have you tried with FF?

Also maybe uninstall Java since I had a similar issue a couple months back and reinstalled which sorted my issue out.

EDIT: Disable any unnecessary extensions in the browsers, as they tend to conflict some times.

I'm also thinking that it could be add-ons/extensions. Are you sure you have removed/disabled them all?
