If you could have any mouse and keyboard?

Hey folks, so my 21st is coming up next month and my parents are asking me for ideas on any presents that I might want.

I've been using the Logitec G11 Keyboard and Logitec MX518 Mouse for like 4 years now and they have served me very well. However the mouse is finally dying and my keyboard is dirtier than dreadlocks.

I'm currently looking at getting the:

Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Mechanical Gaming Keyboard (http://store.razerzone.com/store/razerusa/en_US/pd/productID.211651300)

and Razer Mamba 4G Mouse (http://store.razerzone.com/store/razerusa/en_US/pd/productID.231103000)

Another option would be the Cyborg RAT7 mouse which looks damn sexy (http://cyborggaming.com/prod/rat7.htm)\

Have any of you used any of these products and have anything positive or negative to say about them? Or perhaps you have alternative suggestions?
Razer Keyboard: ~ R1,000.00
Razer Mouse: ~ R1,500.00
Cyborg Mouse: ~ R800.00

I have used all 3 products and I actually own a RAT 7 and Razer BW ultimate.

The BW Ultimate is a fantastic keyboard, it feels crisp and looks fantastic, the only real downside to mech keyboards..They are quite loud..The key sounds can get a bit much but I have grown into liking the sound :p

Razer mamba 4G, probably the best wireless mouse money can buy, that said I think its totally over priced as with most Razer products, You can easily get a RAT 9 for around R400 less than the Mamba 4G and its just as good.

RAT 7, its fantastic..one of the best gaming mice I have ever owned, the bulky feel isn't for everyone though.
If you like the Idea of the Rat 7, maybe look at the RAT 9 as it offers you the best of both the Razer mamba 4G and the Rat 7.

i have the R.A.T 7 and the Cyborg V.7 keyboard. They are awesome and I have not had any issues with either.

Just an FYI, it's not a mechanical keyboard characteristic that makes them loud, but rather the specific switches used. You do get silent mechanical keyboards. They're just much rarer, as most people prefer having the audible feedback.

Thanks for the feedback so far guys. I think that the Razer Mamba is way over priced for what it really is, but the RAT 9 is looking good with the wireless functionality too now.

I do know that, I was mainly talking about the blackwidow, and it is loud, I am typing on it right now.

Any mouse and keyboard combination? I think I'd settle for a mouse made specifically for my left hand, and a keyboard with number pad on the left hand side too.

I'd get a G19 KB and Rat 7 mouse.

Currently using a G15 v 1 and MX518 - Had my mouse for almost 6 years and bought a second as a spare as the product is now EOL.

Cool, just wanted to throw that in there for other people looking for a mechy kb. :)

Check out the Microsoft Sidewinder X6, or get a compact (keypadless) kb and grab a seperate USB keypad.

I have a RAT9 and Steelseries 7g

I'd thoroughly recommend both. The 7g is a mechanical keyboard just like the Blackwidow, just minus all the colours and flashyness - and with a more solid and heavier, but oldschool, construction.

G19 needs extra POWER unless you ,cguiver it . So for a lan its not on.

I like the G510 logitech and the G700 logitech mouse.

The G9x is what i used for 2 years prior to getting hte G700.

Also get a Cyborg Glide 7 mousepad for the best expierience :D

Yes and NO

Im currently testing the G400 it is the new improved MX518 :D

I have the Razer Naga epic it uses the same tech to as the mamba to do the wireless and wireless it not as good as the MS Sidewinder X8 that i had. The x8 lasted a week with ease on one AA battery. were now the naga is more on the cable than wireless. both have there advantages on charging. like my x8 connection got bad after while and didn't always charge when i thought it was charging. where the naga its a better connection but bit hard to plugin if you are in the middel of a game.(you will need to pause were x8 just drop the cable and its connected) it like 10sec with naga compared to sec with x8.

I have the Logitech G500 Mouse and I'm quite happy with it.

As for the keyboard, I'd probably go for the Logitech G510 as it doesn't require an extra power source as far as I know.

The Logitech products also feel a lot sturdier that Razer ones. For some reason the Razer products always feel like they are going to snap to me. They are just too plastic for my taste.
