If you had the time...

What game or genre of games would you like to get into if you had the time to invest in it?

Crusader Kings 2, and more specifically the Game of Thrones mod for CK2 has always interested me - I even have the game in my Steam library, just not the time to really get to grips with the game.

Another game series I'd love to get into is the Total War games - I've got several in my Steam library as well but it's one of those games where I feel I'd need to invest a fair amount of time in it to get the most out of it.

A bit off topic... are there any other hobbies you'd get into or skills you'd learn if you had the time?

Model (tall) ship building. Specifically ones built with proper wood and metal with rope for rigging and cloth for sails. Not those plastic kits that most hobby shops sell.

Sadly, building just one such ship is a huge time investment which I can't afford or justify right now. I barely get time to do gaming at the moment.

They appeal to me but I know if I start it'll take over my life, so I don't.

Hobbies...I'd like to make knives from scratch. It's possible to start by literally collecting iron ore in the wild & melting it down. Very minecraft-y

Pretty sure those can be sold for a pretty penny too. It's the kind of stuff a big corporate would stick in a boardroom or reception lobby.

I'd like to understand Hearts of Iron or Arsenal of Democracy properly.

If I had the time and money I'd love to recreate historical items. Be it a Villa from Pompeii or a Viking Longship.

I love the idea of these milsim titles where your entire keyboard is mapped to keys and roleplay the marine that I should be. The tactical side of things too, it all just appeals to me but without having anyone else interested and the time needed to learn the ropes, it would be pointless.

there's some great guys and communities locally that are into the milsim experience. Not to mention some fantastic mods, especially the likes of the audio that makes it sound like a authentic open/close mics they use.

Not sure I have the time/patience for a milsim though...how good is it for something more casual?
