I live in an area where I don't get telkom or their LTE service and have to bring the net in via satellite at R350/10gb. So my gaming has moved from pc to my trusty xbox360 as steam updates alone kill my cap.
I was looking at the Xbox one, but how many games come out these days with single player as the focus and don't need updates?
Can anybody recommend a couple good Xbox 360 games to tide me over until the new isp comes into the area.
I'll play anything with a decent storyline at the moment.

Man I miss csgo and dota

I prefer the M72 LAW, find it more accurate ;)

I have played the bards tale and it was awesome.
Can you suggest any for the xbox that doesn't require multiplayer?
I'm really keen on getting stuck into a game again.

Just googled it, looks awesome. gonna see what I can see on Bid or Buy

Oblivion or Skyrim should keep you plenty busy. There is also Dragon Age Origins and Saints Row.

RPG wise you can also get Divinity original sin, the first one since the new one is not on console yet, also in the realm of tactical games XCOM: Enemy Unknown
 
What you need on the XBox 360 is Red Dead Redemption. It will keep you busy for a long time and it's excellent.
 
What ever you do stay away from the X Box one if you dont have internet, I have a mate who got a X Box one when they first came out and he had a 2meg adsl line, he couldnt play half his games because they were updating all the time, and his connection wasnt fast enough to download the massive updates... 90% of games these days on the X1 and the PS4 come with sizeable day one patches...

Find a china with a fibre line, set up NTFS hardlinks to an external HDD and download your entire steam library one shot

I'm assuming such a china would be quite a drive away if he has to use satellite for internet because cell network is too slow... More often than not fixed line broadband is also out of the question.

So maybe get someone to log into your Steam profile, download a crapton of SP games and post you the external HDD? :p

Does that even work? Thought the whole file transfer thing was canned a while back in favour of backups.

Yeah works fine. We used to make use of the fibre at the office (at night when nobody was using it) to download huge new games and just distribute the external with the files on it instead of everyone downloading the same game and waiting a week for 60GB to download...
 
Thanks for the replies. I believe their is now fibre on the village main street.

I might just bite the bullet and buy an xbone and f1 2017. My Zuma return was kind to me this year.
 
I accidentally downloaded hearth stone at 3pm waiting for systems to come online. Played a couple of practice rounds. Got home and wife and baby are away so started playing at 5:30. Just looked up. It's 10 to 11.
I need to cook supper, shower and go to bed.
 
if you are on xbox360, you are in position for good times!

number 1 game to get : red dead redemption

then theres a crapload of great single player games, far too many to list. I have a cupboard full of 360 games, and growing thanks to second hand stores selling games for under R100ea. its madness(good madness)
