Ok, well I guess I'm the one at blame here as I was first to nominate her.

I know Wyvern would have loved something like this and thought she wouldn't enter herself, as she would consider that someone else will be more in need of a prize like this. Fact of the matter is she doesn't need it. But I thought she deserves it! Simply put, and it seems others felt the same by following suite.

Thats where we disagree. I feel she does need it :)

Also, its not hers to have, nor is it ours to decide she (or anyone) gets it.

I am likely just echoing everybody's thoughts on this, but a winner was fairly decided in the comp. They then approached the community with an idea. Feedback was given. The original winner of the prize can still decide whatever they want (keep it, do a 1v1/1v10 draw, give it away, sell it, burn it and upload to youtube) and I can't think anyone here would think any less of them (except perhaps the burning....i mean thats just cruel dude, why would you do that??? Why are you even thinking about it?) for it.

TL;DR its prize owners choice what they wanna do. Community has mostly given feedback, you can choose whatever you want regardless.

My point is, why enter the competition in the first place if you as the winner are going to give it to someone else?

Again, I'm referring to all the nominations and not to Greg. Seems like a broken system to have 9 people enter a competition to give it to someone else? 90% win chance over 10% when it's just 2 people.
 
well that changes everything. I thought that she needed it.

that will teach me to jump on the bandwagon and follow trends.

Now now, calm yourselves. This is exactly what I didn't want to happen, and probably caused it all myself anyway. :( Should have made it clearer from the start whether I'd consider nominations for others or not. I take [MENTION=12523]DuckKnuckle[/MENTION]s point, I see [MENTION=4071]BeoTeK[/MENTION]s too. And I certainly did not want to create any aggro on the boards because of it. I'm truly sorry if it did.

That said, I've just run the random generator using only the names of the two who requested the wheel directly, and this is what came up:

I entered fairly, did not ask the forum to nominate me at all. And in the end he did the right thing and did it 1v1. If you had won I would be congratulating you right now.

This for me is a luxury item that I have wanted for about 10 years now, but it is right at the bottom of all my wish lists since I put real life items like studies before buying something like that for entertainment. I don't even buy new games unless its on a steam sale at 75% off - otherwise I cannot justify the expense to myself.

So thank you again Greg, I really appreciate it and will hereby withdraw from ALL comps for the rest of the year.

And rightly so, and I think GregRedd did the right thing in evening the odds. I didn't expect nor anticipate it to be so heavy sided (ie 9v1). I didn't expect it to be 9 votes for Wyvern, just 1 vote with 9 nominations.




But congrats Wyvs

I totally see your point Duck, I just wanted to let you know, I wouldnt have entered if I didnt really want it or would never use it. I am very happy that he did the draw the way he did, I would have asked for a redraw if he had used the nominations as well.
