Im sorry im very confused...

I thought that COD4 is way better than MW2. I thought dedi's were way better than this IW.net system. But tonight when i went on COD4 and behold maybe 20 people online playing.

The reason why im bringing this up is because ive had yet another conversation(arguement) with someone who has never played MW2 online but he will go on and on that MW2 is shit and COD4 is way better.

So guys lets break it down. Give me 5 good reasons why COD4 is brilliant and 5 why MW2 is brilliant. Same for why its not good.

COD 4:
Good

  • 1. Dedicated Servers
    2. Pro Mod
    3. Balanced(being out for 4years helps)
    4. Still a shit load of fun
    5. Gaming Leagues play COD4

Bad

  • 1. Spawn Raping
    2. Constant bitching and calling me a noob because i shot him in the face
    3. Mods who thinks the sun shines out of their asses.
    4. Challenges and Weapons + Mods less than MW2
    5. Uhm....Ill get back with this one.

MW2:

Good

  • 1. Brand New
    2. Loads of Weapons and Attachments incl Maps
    3. Loads of Challenges
    4. Matchmaking System(Yes im suprised aswell, but for newbies to online fps gaming this is a dream when they dont have to sit and wait for a game)
    5. Search and Destroy is brilliant.

Bad

  • 1. No Dedicated Servers(although imho i think matchmaking will imrove in future)
    2. Still a few bugs to be sorted(example on scrapyard in the middle ish close to the white truck you can crouch under the barracks type of house thing and if im inside that barracks thing i can see your secondary weapon sticking through the floor)
    3. Campers...OMG the campers are so many. Sure on the one or two 'Sniping maps' i can live with it but ffs...
    4. Normal modes i.e. not Hardcore are sometimes so irritating because you will shoot a guys back off and hell turn around and one shot headshot you.
    5. No real control on public game such as langauge and racism and so forth.

    Give me your opinions guys and ladies.
 
As much as spawn rape is an issues in cod 4 i prefer the spawn system in cod 4. We can deal with spawn rape. In modern Warfare 2 if the bomb is planted and if you have to defuse the bomb, you are spawned 10km away which sometimes makes this impossible.
 
My MW2 experience so far has been a crappy one unfortunately. For some reason I'm seriously battling to get a game going. Took me 20 minutes yesterday. That coupled with my "iw4mp.exe has stopped working" error, which kicks me out after 4 or 5 rounds EVERY TIME!

I still play tho, which is a testament to how much fun it is.

I had the same problem lastnight, from never having an issue.
I find that the game starts to LAG\hook and then i get kick with the iw4mp.exe error.

I think Dedi servers would make MW2 better but....the problem that I found with COD4 was that the servers (SAIX TDM) was always full and it was always the same people playing. This match making tends to mixup the players a bit, IMO is better.

For me it comes down to two things - new weapons and new maps, I'm so tired of the same old maps on COD4 that I've been playing for 2 years now I know every spot where a camper would hide, I know all the sniper spots, I know which way is best to plant the bomb, its the same old same old.

Even though I now only play MW2 I still believe that COD4 was a better game in its time.

One reason BC2 is looking awesome. Destructible buildings and stuff. Nade a camper spot and its a camper spot no more.
 
But yet BF2 isnt out yet and this is about MW2 and COD4. The reason why i brought this up is alot of people still say cod4 is better which in many ways i agree but yet there is almost no one playing it.
 
Fridge, nearly every single night the IGame as well as SGS Hardcore servers are packed. I wouldn't say no one plays it anymore :)

sorry dude which servers are u looking at? Cause on my HLSW there are maaaany full servers
 
How many total players? maybe 100, 150?

I never said there was zero players playing.

I doubt any of you can honestly tell me its gonna be fun for a guy who has never played a fps online to climb on a cod4 server and he is gonna enjoy himself? Alot of players on our local servers who are just silly good.
 
^ that is why we have the match making system in mw2, because people who buy the games whine that the people are too good. With practice comes more FPS skill. Yes, people who haven't played FPS games before would enjoy it. I personally have 2 mates who have never played FPS and eveytime they come here and have fun on Igame alpha with their tube etc. Personally mw2 is never going to live up to cod4's success even if they have huge sales.
