Looks like there motor is in the back, could still be the original beetle motor.

It is. I recall the owner said getting it on the road was more difficult than building it. The photos aren't recent, btw. I took them a few years ago at a small off-road rally.

my mother's biker boyfriend build two of these. they go to a lot rally's. they sold the one and kept the one. theirs has a roof though
