Impending Death

Xero

Official Zombie Slayer
One of my Xbox Units started acting up a week ago.
First up was a forced shutdown that after some troubleshooting was caused by a short in the plug that the powerbrick was connected to :/
Not a Full RROD, but 2 Red Lights.
Left the unit off, replaced the powerbrick and had the electrical system checked.
Unit worked fine afterwards.

Yesterday the units starts freezing, fixed graphics patterns on the screen , freezes during startup or as soon as it gets into a game, three restarts later and I have 4 red indicators.Strange thing is that it starts up while showing the 4 red lights though.

According to what I've seen online 4 means a VGA Cable issue, switched the box over to HDMI and it works again, no freezing.
Interesting though is the fact that it does give you an error code of 0110 when the 4 indicators are lit, which technically it shouldn't

So now I guess I wat for the eventual death of the unit?
Unfortunately for me it is a older model with a manufacture date of June 2007.
I've been reading up on similar issues and a lot of people have been having issues with the older systems after the last Dashboard/Firmware update.

Anyone have any similar experience?
* Also I've already actually replaced it with a new Stealth 360 but would like to be able to continue running this one as my primary download Xbox for LIVE

Update:

I guess it's possible that the short damaged the VGA port somehow, and graphical corruption using the VGA cable - but not the HDMI cable - would be consistent with this hypothesis. If it's working fine with the HDMI cable now, I shouldn't start worrying until that causes issues.

[EDIT] Oh, just worked out your second post. :(

Yeah I'm always mildly surprised when I actually lose one although I know its inevitable.

Thanks for the offer, but I've got three Jaspers and a Slimline that work ...... for now
