Importing PS4

Amazon has a cracking special on PS4 at the moment. what's the general consensus on importing ? how will warranty work ? Is it global ?

I think you warranty is not international afaik. You will be out of warranty should anything go wrong and have to pay Partserve for any repairs.

Is it the special that includes the Camera + 2 games?

If anything goes wrong with the PS4 you have to ship it back to Amazon.
The warranty is not covered locally.

Can't you just class it as a gift and waiver the import costs?

i did, when I ordered mine through FNB.
Randomly shutting off, or not wanting to turn on.
2nd model is working 100%

Probably had a bad batch but it's about a year since the launch so the newer models should be problem-free.

Chances of that working out are slim imo...stuff like ps4 tends to be priced somewhat near true price given competition.

Also...did you factor in VAT?

Only thing I'd buy from Amazon on the electronics front is kindles...and there I'd def buy directly
