In space, no one can hear your screens of Alien: Isolation

The Alien: Isolation environmental artists are clearly having a lot of fun evoking the 1979 vibe of the Ridley Scott film. Check out that curved brown piping on the wall, the clunky radios, the inset screens with their blocky displays. Also, as June reminds us, in 1979 pants hadn't been invented yet. Crazy times.

Alien: Isolation is coming to PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, and PC late 2014.

Please God let this be a good Aliens game. It gives me Amnesia the Dark Descent vibes, which is a good thing in my book.

I hope there is a good few jumb scares. I like that, I am not going to play this game during the night, it gives me chills.

I am really hoping that this doesn't turn into another Colonial Marines because Sega is still involved with this games development. It does look very promising so fingers crossed.

Alien games are normally not that big of a hit,but I am not talking about games like mass effect , its like Colonial Marines. Its not very good

It's a Survival Horror FPS, no guns. They need to try real hard to screw this up, because Xenomorphs are naturally scary fothermuckers!

Yes you think it would be hard to screw up but this is a alien game we talking about absolutely anything is possible but I remain hopeful. You badly misspelled that last word.

Thankfully I didn't get caught into the hype from the previous one (and therefor not burnt) however I do have to say that this one is looking rather spectacular at this point - also my cup of tea being a survival-horror as opposed to a 'run-and-gun' (I like them too but I prefer the 'crap-my-pants' games).

There Won’t Be Any “Plasma Rifles, Launchers and Electric Guns” in Alien: Isolation
Alien: Isolation is shaping up more and more like it’s film counterpart, 1979′s Alien, and unlike 1986′s Aliens, the more action-oriented film on which last year’s Aliens: Colonial Marines was based upon. Much like Alien, there will be no complex firearms at the disposal of the player in Alien: Isolation, and the developers have confirmed this fact.

“It’s about scavenging and finding things you can imagine to be in that environment, small fire arms and stuff like that you can craft basic rudimentary devices from,” Lead Designer Gary Napper explained, “we’re not giving you plasma rifles, launchers and electric guns and stuff like that. It needs to stay within that chunky realm of believability.”

Alien: Isolation
is being developed by The Creative Assembly and will be published by Sega for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on an unannounced date this holiday season.
