Incredible new mini-computer doesn't require any power source

A team of researchers from the University of Washington’s Sensor Lab have come up with a computer that doesn't require any power source.

As a monitoring device I can see plenty possibilities (as long as it can also power small proximity sensors/light/temperature/ph sensors etc).

Using these to centrally monitor equipment in manufacturing or medical fields would be amazing
