Hey all

So I'm looking into getting myself a new keyboard, mouse, mouse pad and headphones.

This is I've been looking around for so long that I honestly can't decided what to get.

My budget: R1500

I have looked around at Razer, ROCCAT, Logitech, Cyborg, Steelseries and even Microsoft.

I would like something like the following:

Keyboard: Media keys, 5+- macro keys, led lighting, and maybe if possible for the keys to be nice and easy to press and not make so much noise.

Mouse: Something good for fps games, maybe a macro key or two doesn't matter, must be wired, hate wireless stuff.

Mouse pad: something good to compliment the mouse, I want a nice smooth mouse pad so I can move my mouse easily on it.

Headphones: Possibly the hardest to decide on, it must be very comfortable, I would prefer it to have 5.1 virtual is ok, usb wired,

Please help me out here guys, gimme some suggestions. :)

Personally I think, if you want to get yourself some decent stuff, your budget is a bit too low. Might want to reconsider and save up some more cash!

Yeah, valid point, just want to see if there isn't something that I'm missing, I have a shopping cart of razer stuff for about R1500, so I'm just looking around abit more.

Morning

I was looking into buying a keyboard and mouse myself.

What I was looking at:

RAT 7 Mouse goes for around R820
and
Cyborg 7 Keyboard goes for around R710

I haven't done my homework around the Headset and Mouse Pad yet though....

Hi thanks, I've looked at them and they aren't for me unfortunately, I also need a headset cause mine is pretty worn out :)

I love the razer brand. Mind sharing what items you've got in your cart?

Razer Lycosa Mirror special edition - R584.14
Razer Piranha - R441.69
Razer Lachesis - R495.56
Razer Goliathus Speed edition Omega size - R99.35

Sub-Total: R1,620.74 off rebeltech.co.za

It seems to be the best combo for me

Yeah your budget is a bit low for all those components.
R1500 is fine if you remove one component from the list.

Atm im using

Keyboard
Microsoft Sidewinder X4 for its price its an awesome keyboard.(like R500 or less)
Back lit keys, macro keys, anti ghosting and the keys are quiet and soft to press

Mouse
I had the Razer copperhead and now the Lachesis.
Both awesome.

Mouse Pad
Razer goliathus Speed edition(biggest 1)

Headphones
Razer Megalodon these are amazing! Virtual 7.1 and usb so surround sound on any pc,even with no sound card. And the mic is clear as day.

Thanks, swapped the Lycosa for the x6, the price difference isn't much.

You know what, If I were you I'd stick to the razer products, it would be cool if all your devices are razer! It's gaming porn! Hahah :D

That was my original idea :)
But the Lycosa sucks. The black letters on the keys were invisible in the dark.
Then they changed it to silver didn't help much.
Those keyboards need back lighting.
Cant see the letters on the keys when its dark.
Only option for Razer keyboard is Tarantula and thats like R900

Oh shit, I thought the Lycosa's got the back lighting!

I know what you mean, I had a razer keyboard can't recall which model, but it had the black letters and I couldn't see shit! LOL

So if it is the Lycosa, stay away dude, far far far away!!!!

lol yeah I was aiming to get everything of the same brand, but x6 simply is better than the Lycosa, and I think you have the Lycosa confused with the Arctosa which has no backlighting.

I think you're right! So? Decided to go for the x6?

Pretty much yeah, the only reason really is that I have a Logitech G11 at the moment, and it has a wheel to turn the volume up and down which I like, the x4 only has buttons, the x6 has a wheel also :D and I can detach the numpad for when I go to lans.

Don't get me wrong I think the x6 is awesome, but it would've been cool if everything was razer, know what I mean?

Mouse: go for the Cyborg R.A.T. Flipping awesome mouse!

You will just need to decide which 1, the 7 is about R850.

The 3 which is the lowest, is about R450.
