Think of this as a central repository for interesting articles worthy of discussion. If you find an article here that you want to discuss, mention in your post that you got the link from here, link the article, and then discuss it

If you find a cool article, add the link in here and create a separate discussion thread elsewhere. It makes a lot of sense to have a thread like this for the people who can't browse through the forums for a few hours at a time, looking for good articles.
