It's no kindle so don't expect to read for a long time on it. But as an all rounder its pretty good

i know a bit off topic but does the kindle come in color? would not be lekker to check comics in black and white

There are loads of comic apps to view comics in full colour with...kindle reader can change but only into black/white/sepia

No it does not. It has a black and white E-ink screen.

At the moment the quality of colour E-ink screens are not that good.

so reckon then kindle would be ideal for the wife coz she reads hectic books, i do it just for leasure, bally reading comics, so the IPAD2 would be the way to go for me it would rock !!! wonder which one they giving away the wifi or wifi+3g

correct, the actaul kindle unit is e-ink ( the definition isnt hugely great, but text is sharp and clear, very nice for reading...but you can use a kindle reader for the pads and now html5 version for browser, they can change into black/white/cepia...maybe more
