Is my PS4 faulty?

Since I got my PS4 I have been ignoring this "problem"

When putting it in standby mode, the orange light goes on, but turning it back on gives no display and gives me the Flashing Blue Light of Death (BLOD). I have checked all cables and plugs but to no avail.

Have checked google and there has been a few reports of this incidents and nothing works for me, and I dont feel like sending it back to FNB.

However, after pressing the power button a few times, it would eventually turn on and boot into Safe Mode where it does a check and boots successfully to the xmb.

Any PS4 owners had similar issues before?

Sending it back is the last resort, as this issue is still bearable but SHOULD not happen.
 
Eish, I see that Wenzdayz also have problems with her PS4. Sorry, can't help you blaaislaai but I hope you get it sorted out.
 
Hope you get it sorted I guess I am going to wait till the next ps4 batch comes before I buy mine.
 
If it was me it would already be back at FNB bro... You dont need problems like this with a new console, especially at the price it goes for...
 
Sigh dude. I think it's faulty bro. :/ And you're not the first from the FNB to have the problem. I would try and send it in now, as soon as you can so you can get up and running again.
 
I sent my original 360 arcade back because one on the lights did not work lol and I got a new one things should be perfect send it back.
I was thinking if you can still play maybe you should wait sending it back till there is more stock.The warranty is a year long isn't it ?

my ps4 is also giving me issues... mine is beeping and refusing to accept discs. and it sounds like it is trying to eject a disc that is not even in the machine the whole time. mine will be going in this week as well

If you dont have power on issues, then your's should be okay. But you really need to check if standby mode works, it must emit an orange light and stay orange till whenever you turn the PS4 back on

Just did a quick test now before work and it thankfully seems to be ok as far as standby mode goes. Hopefully I don't run into any other issues. Having to send consoles in to Sony is the most depressing thing ever.

That is exactly what my ps3 started doing and it has recently died.Blu-ray drive dead.
 
Oh that sucks so much that you guys are having issues with brand new consoles. I hope that whoever FNB etc sends them back to kept a batch in case anyone needed replacements

FNB doesnt have stock. But I did email their Gurus, so waiting for a reply..
