Ummm this just sounded like a bit of dodginess to me, viral emailers? And here i thought IS was better than TelkomPluGG is pleased with the results of the campaign
I found this all very funny. I mean really?
Girl gamers better than males? That's just silly!![]()
I know man. I know. First they discovered the internets, now they found games. Next thing you know they'll be on our forums.
Haha, okay enough with the sexist comments -- only thing is, there would be so much necessity for a male team to win vs. females in an event to decide which gender makes better gamers that there is absolutely no way the male team would win without committing mass suicide afterwards.
Don't be so quick to come down on this event.. I was there and it was actually pretty amazing at the amount of effort and work that had been put into the event.
The actual match itself was a huge stuff up because IS/PLuGG contracted local LAN organisers Arena77 to run the setup. Just like many times before, Arena77 totally screwed up things. The players keep dropping from Steam because the 3G connection couldn't handle the verification process Steam does for each of the player's game accounts. The PLuGG staff were furious about this as they couldn't do anything to solve the problem, and they vowed never to use Arena77 again.
With the bands playing, the bars, the setup with 12 40" LCD screens to view, the event was awesome, over a R1 million went into everything. Hopefully they do it again this year.
