My friend recently told me about a website where you can get consoles, games, etc for dirt cheap. They based in Cape Town and ship anywhere in SA. Eg) Xbone R5000, PS4 R4000, etc.

Anyone bought from here before if so would really be grateful to share your experiences.

Heres the website:
http://www.gadgetcmp.com/

Maybe someone in the Cape can check them out, they seem to be in a small mall of sorts.

Unit G5 Claremont off ramp from M5
Cnr Chichester & Doncaster Rd,
Kenilworth
Cape Town

Also, only one contact person makes it seem really dodgy.

the business park is legit its called access park, its opposite the kenilworth centre shopping mall, that area is always busy, so if the ad was true its probably gone by now, i havent been at access park in a while so i cant vouch for the shop though

update ! i also dont see them listed in the park directory http://www.accesspark.co.za/kenilworth/shopping/

May I share some words of wisdom?
"If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is". Remember these words and the proverb "a fool and his money are soon parted" may never apply to you.

To quote a post in that thread from today:

Hi Guys, I'm the owner of a Company called Gadget Computers in Johannesburg, This company Gadgetcmp has taken it upon themselves to make use on my CK number to trade. We are currently busy with Cipro and the Police will be contacted. Please don't purchase anything from gadgetcmp or deal4u, these are two websites that they are using to sell or scam from. please forward any correspondence that you may have with gadgetcmp or deal4u to *****@gadgetit.co.za so we can make our case stronger and get these guys closed down

So, yeah. Scam. Stay away.

Im thinking maybe its fake or stolen goods, can never be so cheap!

Who wouldnt get an iMac for R10k

Don't know, but those prices are just too good to be true? I mean, a PS4 for the same price as a WiiU? I'm no Mac fundi, but even I know 10k for that is way below what other places are selling them? I haven't even seen them go at those prices 2nd hand on Carbonite.

Edit : Thanks for confirming Mister 44

imacs are going between 4 and 8k 2nd hand here in capetown depending on the specs and screen size, i've gone and looked at quite a few already

see what i mean

iMac's or ridiculously over-priced. Previous work bought me a MacBook Pro. Thing cost like 40k and had worse specs than my PC.

Not surprised in the least, considering it's supposed to be a local company but their site is hosted internationally. That right there should already set off warning bells.

A general rule I live by is if you have to wonder whether it's legit, it's probably not.

You can partly thank the Core Group for that. They're the main importers of Apple products in SA and they put ridiculous markups on Apple products.

So is takealot.com and they legit so internationally hosted doesn't automatically make them fake.

I saw X-Box One 5K and was like... Nope... Its a scam...

Quite scary actually that people can set up sites like this so easily... Would like to know if they catch the bastards...
