Is water damage to a controller fixable?

Some *@%hole spilled tea on my PlayStation controller. Has anyone else had something similar happen? Also if it isn't fixable, would it be a good idea to buy one of these monstrosities, because my budget is tight?

Should just be a sticky mess, I don't think that it would simply break if allowed to dry. I mean, when you say "spilled" surely you don't mean "drowned?"

Best option if it is a authentic Sony controller, contact partserve (0861 773 783) and ask them to have a look and quote you on repairs.

I'm so ready for a price drop in PS3 Remotes.
I had the same one.. only lasted me a few months. The first thing that goes is the usb connector

If these recommendations do not work then its time for DIY.

Remove screws and keep them in a packet, get thinners and a paper towel.
Clean the copper contacts with the paper towel dabbed with some thinners.

Once you have got all contacts clean allow to dry.
Inspect to ensure no more sticky area's.

Re-assemble carefully as hell! Plastic clips and plastic mounting brackets don'd do well to brute force and ignorance.
