Isonic 600W PSU with GTX260

wow jasong - the Isonic must be pretty good PSU's then. unless yuo're one of the lucky ones that got a good batch.
That, or the 500W is actually a single rail 12V with big amps on that rail - seems more likely to me.

I wouldn't say it's a very good PSU. When I get a chance I'll upgrade it. But people overestimate how much wattage they'll need quite often.

i know, but i talk from experience, my 650W dualrail PSU couldnt run my GTX280 for more than 120seconds in 3D mode.... otherwise it "seemed fine".

Just trying to be informative. But i DO agree with you - we do kinda get sold down the river these days with requirements. But NVidia cards in general do "chow" a lot of "juice"

Yeah I know I was very nervous when I put it in there. I think I'm running pretty close to the upper limit of what it can do. But so far not a hitch..

Same with my friends' one. Playing Cod4 and COD5 he had no issues, but playing Crysis and MW2, the machine would reboot or just shutdown completely, untill he changed his 600W Isonic to a Gigabyte Odin.

But if it works for you, good job you're very lucky not to fork out a wad of cash on a PSU :D
