iTunes music heading to SA

This would be awesome. I'd be encouraged to switch back to my SA account, pending the availability of all iTunes features.

Ya, not sure what'll happen with this, there's always too many influential people involved in other means of distribution for digital to work well here. We may get so have a selection of Jack Parrow and Steve Hoffmeyer, and little else, or we'll get lots of choice, but it'll be cheaper to go buy an actual cd.

After the local version of Xbox Live, I'm I'd rather stick with my US iTunes account.

I'll second that, I was duped into transferring my xbox live account thinking we'd have the same content :(

At least it's a start, but I think the FPB will once again ruin a good thing and want to rate all the songs (ignoring any international ratings)

Apple are feeling intimidated because of simfy coming into the country, so their tactic is to make the iTunes available here and support 1 third world country. Now they're becoming seriously childish with this new attitude of theirs.

I would use it. I already have a SA account and really can't be bothered with all the propaganda.
It would simplify buying music so why not.

Just as an FYI although this really applies to games in the appstore:
iTunes online store remains limited in SAl

I found this article as well which gives better insight into online music delivery in SA, which seems to be related to licensing more than anything else:
App and music store licensing in SA: Copyright and licensing

Thanks, I gave them a read. the article about the licensing issues says that the providers are not approaching the FPB to get ratings done, etc.
If Apple is bringing iTunes to SA then I think they will probably have done that? They seem to be way more organised in terms of getting stuff sold than Microsoft so I think it should have a decent amount of content. Or should I say at least I hope so...

Yeah, I have to agree with you regarding music purchases, I'm sure they would have had to sort all those things out before hand

I guess the positive we can take out of this is that we are getting the services in SA so it can only get better from here
