Great line and sure I wont play it , but that is not my point . My point is that we don't need games like this may be I am a bit biased because I dealt with children that have been affected by this sort of thing ( yes a 16 year old deaf girl that , was raped by the caretaker of her school, no not a old black man a young coloured man) so yes I may be biased.

Churches do not feel up little boys. It is some people in the Churches that do this.

And another thing, Japanese are also not the rosy picture of greatness we love to portray. Whaling, killing dolphins and sharks just for their fins is despicable.

The reason for my entire argument wasn't the fact that Japanese are any more awesome than we are (although the way they carried themselves back in March earned a lot of rep points with me) - again ... that blanket generalisation got under my skin.

No need to apologise mate - I haven't seen personal attacks from your side - or even Mephisto's side - although I probably stepped closer to the line than I should have.

You have strong feelings about the game - that's fair, like I said. I was just arguing calling the Japanese a pedo nation. If you think I got hot under the collar here, you should've seen me back in March when US based people started their: Karma for Pearl Harbor comments on Facebook after the Tohoku quake.

I guess you get that I have strong feelings about the subject as well :)

In all fairness - I've been exposed to a lot of different aspects of Japanese culture - anime, manga, movies, dramas, magazines, newspapers - even the people that live there that I actively interact with on a daily basis. So I'm a little more open-minded about these issues ... probably. Not that I don't sometimes also think that some of the things they come up with aren't as wierd as fuck and Mephisto - used panty vending machines fall into that category for me. Although having someone buy used panties are probably a sight better than having people take them off the girls themselves.

I actually own some Visual Novels - because as a gaming genre I believe they are an art form of their own. Before you roll your eyes - they are all 3 All Ages versions :p They would bore the crap out of most gamers because they emphasise story over gameplay - ASELIA the ETERNAL had me reading for an hour before I even got to make my first choice. Interactive novels are probably a better name for them. Kanon was a little faster - 20 minutes.

And I don't recall being defensive. Your post - and my entire argument about it was "Pedo nation". So you are, technically, referring to each and every person in that country as a child-molesting pervert. And if they don't do it - they support it.

As soon as you said that it stopped being about the game, and it became about the people. People who, for the most part, don't deserve that label ... any more than you or I deserve any of the labels that get applied to us by foreigners sometimes.

Besides which - Azi's article was a bad one (or a good one - since she likes kicking bees nests). The sort of thing I would expect to see on Sankaku Complex. Meant to raise a fuss and give people the wrong ideas. The article seems to imply (although never explicitly state) that some guy is going into a school full of disabled (possibly underage) kids and having his way with them.

Which is about as far from the truth as it is possible to get.

I had an obsession of Japan for many years, mainly due to my insatiable thirst for all things anime and in that time saw some peculiar things come from that nation. That said, they like everyone else will have the "weirdos" although they are a little more free and open about it over there.

I'm not overly disturbed by this game (though I understand why you would be) since I've gotten over most of the culture shock that can come from the land of the rising sun. It's just not cool to label an entire nation for what is obviously a minuscule portion of the populace that are into this sort of thing.
