You really didn't miss anything if you weren't there. Oh and Guild Wars 2? Well, NOTHING! There was a little hidden poster of it below a blank screen. Nice eh? At least I got to see Pippa for real - she's very good looking in person.

now it's time to say... told you so and sexpo might have been a better choice :D.

the only really awesome pc fair i've been to was the initial bexa computer fair before it went all strict and corporate which they changed after few fairs and it was more open...

The Bexa was awesome, until they started focusing on selling printers and faxes.
 
There was some cool stuff. Player Street Fighter vs. Capcom 3, the MMA fights were AWESOME, the new MMA game looks awesome, but aside from that it was retarded. They couldn't even get the poster girls right.

LOL dude did you listen to the speech they had to make whilst the first round of fighters were taking too long in the dressing rooms? They had an interview with this dude who's nickname is the Pit Bull - He looks like he can kill you, but damn, he's definitely not a very bright boy. I started canning myself at his replies.

The interviewer asked him : "So what is your favourite style of fighting?" (obviously since this is mixed-martial-arts...we expected SOME actual form of fighting"

This guy, sharp as a bowling ball, answered: "I can like to fight wiff my hands"

WTFLMAOBBQ?

WOW - keep those mitts up dude - you've taken too many blows to the head.
 
Haha that was hilarious! I mean, I was annoyed 'cause it was taking so god damn log but fuck it was funny. The interviewer looked like he was having a hard time making up enough questions, couldn't take up enough time.

Pippa still gets my vote as the hottest person in South Africa. She alone makes Rage better than the Sexpo. :)
 
What I find r@ge a needs is more expo and less vendors. While I understand the reasons for having vendors I also find it endlessly frustrating that most games on demo only have one setup for play! You either have to wait for ages, or just watch while others hog. I may as well just download a gameplay vid.

Have not been for a year or two, and while the feel has gotten better, overall it still feels like a waste. So many vendors there (who may or may not be having specials) but it is far too difficult to find any special when fighting through the throngs on people crowding the way. Every item I was interested in was at FULL 100% normal retail price, so yeah, pointless.

Anyways, back on topic, was really dissapointing that console games was the same price as in the mall right next door. Dunno, maybe I missed the specials :( Saw some titles on display I would like to get later on though like Dragon Age 2, Dead Rising 2 and Marvel vs Capcom. Anyone wanna sponsor me Dead Rising 2 for PS3? I'll let you look at my pic ;)
 
I totally agree that there should be less vendors and way more "expo" going on. I still don't understand why companies like Frontosa show up. Do they have a storefront that sells direct to the public? No. So why are they taking up so much space in an expo that's supposed to be aimed at the PUBLIC?

There's no use in a company advertising their products to people who cannot buy them if they're not registered resellers. And because I'm a registered reseller with Frontosa I'm continually updated on the latest products via e-mail as well - so really, why are they at Rage??
 
They paid.

After last year I skipped this year, too many people crowding in the smaller areas and it is like JHB Monday morning traffic in there. I think they might actually have to start looking for a bigger place to host it.

playing it with the controller did not yield good results. the wheel worked alot better

i see they only had the original gt5 wheel. What epic fail they should have connected a g27 like I'll be playing my copy of GT5. I can say that the g27 is the best steering wheel in my opinion. Th six speed shifter really makes the world of difference.

They should also be thinking having less people at the LAN and more space for expo. they are also wasting a lot of space there
 
Okay just got home long drive :O

Okay my first rage so here is what I think:

9am pitched up got a bag from nag thanks but then I got a pc format jan 2009 in it I mean wtf and no cd/dvd also a nag march 2010 with dvd at least. All the papers they handed out okay nice and all. Was like okay where too now. So walking around and sudenly I am back at the entrance i was like wtf was that all...

So checked out a huge poster of medal of honor and I was heading that way just to notice guys playing bc2 there on the pc's so watched a few games and I must say omg I hope they good gamers are all at the lan since they would be torn to bits online.
Saw nothing of medal of honor got disappointed just headed off. checked out dragon age 2 and as soon as I wanted to take a picture they guy stopped me :(

Neo I also saw the little poster of guild wars 2 and the screen above it was showing WOW <<< WTF
Walked past the nag stand and this chick comes up to me and ask if I want to win this mega gaming machine I was like yeah and she said only a sms away I was like no thanks then.

O and whats up with the prices in the dome? really R12 for a FKING can of coke.
Just after 1 was waiting for pippa to show up and was a noshow and that's when we had to go since traffic was looking bad.

yeah that was about it really the rest of the stuff not worth mentioning.
 
So now only if they can get a bigger or better hosting venue that allows people to bring there own food and drinks that will be epic and more people will attend rAge. For me until now it's not worth going to rAge. I'll rather stay at home and check the video on the next nag.
 
sounds like an elaborate flea market with added lan under a dome. i drove like 10km's to menlyn and saw more specials :D
