The system requirements for Just Cause 2 have just come in, and it looks like trusty old Windows XP won’t run it.

Here are the full system requirements;

- Processor: Dual-core CPU with SSE3 (Athlon 64 X2 4200 / Pentium D 3GHz)

- Optical Drive: DVD-ROM drive

- Input: Keyboard and mouse (Microsoft Xbox 360 controller optional)

Recommended:

- Operating System: Microsoft Windows Vista or Windows 7 (Windows XP is unsupported)

This is bad news for many, as a Steam survey conducted last month showed that 42% of Steam users still use XP.

We can also see here that the game will run on Dx10, apparently with no option for Dx9.

Just Cause 2 releases on the 23rd March for the 360, PS3 and PC.

No biggie hey? I think most of you are on win7 already?

I people bitch about this then they are just babies. I mean it was bound to happen soon look at windows 98 games stopped working on that. Xp is not as good as win7.

Yeah I cant really see a problem, I mean if your PC is beefy enough to handle this game then surely you should be running Windows 7 by now. I don't see a reason for a gaming PC to still be on XP.

Yeah understandable. Win7 is better than XP but XP is so outdated its not even funny. I think they should discontinue it for once and let people move to win7 but they need to reduce the price of the basic package.

I can understand that people wouldnt want to move to Vista. But its much better than vista.

Well, with XP being unable to support DX10,or DX11 which is the direction most games are heading, it will go out of use. Companies will still use it, and it works great for slightly less than good performing computers. I'd love to get Win7, but I'll only do with my next upgrade :)

Upgraded to Windows 7 a while ago. Really impressed so far. Will see how stable it is when I've used it some more. Anyway, UBUNTU FTW!

I can honestly say Im soooooo glad I upgraded when i did :D this is one game I am dying to have and would do anything to get my hands on :D

I use Xp and widows 7 dual boot. Somethings is still good for Xp and thats why I keep it. Windows 7 still looks like Vista and the feel of it is just not the same as Xp. But I do think games look better on 7 and Just Cause 2 looks gr8 on it.
