Nice dude, good luck with the docks. I see there's quite a few docking ports on that bad boy!![]()
Just wanted to know as well, does your game crash a lot at all with all those mods?
That atmosphere mod looks epic, by the way!
Nope, my game is quite stable. I've had maybe two crashes since installing all the mods. The Active Memory management mod really helps to make the game much more stable. Yeah that better atmosphere mod makes the game really pretty. My plan is to add a few fuel tank and double the station as a refueling station. I will then start planning on a grand interplanetary ship that I'll assemble in orbit around Kerbin.
Also I want to design a space plane to ferry Kerbins to the station and back. Sadly, my space plane design skills is a bit lacking, and Ferram Aerospace dictates that all my crafts be 100% aerodynamical, even rockets. So the design stage is a bit tricky for me.
Tooks- I havent heard him moan about game crashes yet - the mutterings and mumbles when shyte blows up we hear tho![]()
Hahaha!
Ok cool thanks, I will try the Active Memory manager. I forgot to install that :O.
@Hammer & Archie: Lol, I tried sending fuel to my space station last night. What a fail. Took about 30 000 fuel to get 1320 fuel to the station. So fuck that, not economical.
I designed a pod launcher that houses 4 fuel pods for now. I got it into orbit, close to my space station, so now I'm going to launch my unmanned fuel pods from a orbit instead of from the planet. Will post some pics of that operation tonight![]()
Too sexy tbh.
Screw you guys for making me want to space again.
Going to KSP tonight and see if I can recover my man on the mun and I can make use of the 30 000 fuel stuck in geo stationary orbit in career mode.
Scott manley did a good training vid with that mod and best techniques to sort out the planes.
All got to do with center of weight and center of lift needs to be perfect.
Hahaha!

Fuel is a bitch to transport to a station. You end up using quite a lot. I think the best way is to send up a container, using most of it's fuel, and doing a few refueling runs to fill it up again. It's a shlep, but at least you'll have a fair amount of fuel then in orbit ready for refuel.
Yeah I was sitting there looking at the 30 000 fuel I was using sending up 1600 fuel, after numerous attempts at redesigning my concept. I just lolled. That's when I asked Archie on TS "Dude, how much fuel would you justify using to send up 1600 of fuel?" LOL!!
That's that's when I decided to build an actual station, with smaller, independently detachable fuel pods. When the fuel station is in orbit, I can just launch the probes from there, each with their own 3000 fuel each. Launching them from an orbit is much better since obviously they will be in an orbit themselves instead of having to independently launching the pods. So that's already a step in the right way. Using a plus minus 30 000 fuel base to send up 10 000 + fuel is already a step in the right direction, as opposed to only getting up 1600 fuel with a 30 000 base, which was my initial failure of a design.
If you guys are playing Kerbal, hit me with a shout and I'll come and join you on TS. Haven't played KSP yet with other people over TS. Would be awesome.
Yes that's the idea I have for my station as well.
Cool dude will let you know when im on.
Not sure if you got me added on Steam.(http://steamcommunity.com/id/ArchieChoke)
We are still awaiting for the multiplayer mod to become more stable, but its fun sitting in TS asking for advice, sharing mission plans, sharing extreme rocketry designs.
I have actually managed to build an SSTO plane that managed to get into orbit, after literally hundreds of attempts, for the first time ever this weekend!
Will post some pics when I get home.
