Kicking the habit ...

So, just a quick question and to hear about how you did it

Any habits, such as smoking for example, that anyone has kicked recently, and how was the experience?

Ecig. Got me off the ciggies, but obviously not the nicotine. I do find it helps with the cravings. Since the ecig gives a whole lot less nicotine. So for instance if I am stuck somewhere without the ecig, I can now hold out for a few days where as with the ciggies I always lasted a few hours at max.

Now the plan begins to get rid of the ecig. Will see how that works out.

Cigarettes, did it cold turkey!

Also carried around a new open box of cigs for three months from commencement. Going on about 8months now without one ^_^
I can be around smokers, dated smokers, kissed smokers, fu... you get where I'm going with this. I really don't have any issue with it. It's really all in the mind and the will power.

I used to smoke when I was younger. I quit about 7 or 8 years ago. I also went cold turky and my then girlfriend (now wife) joined me. It was bloody tough! We almost broke up but we did it and I'm glad we did. We've been smoke free for a long while now and it doesn't bother me when other people smoke. In fact I don't miss it at all.

That first month is very very hard. Like BeoTeK said though, it's all about willpower.
