Killzone 3 review (MyGaming)

:D

exactly how i always felt the game is, fun.

sadly it was always billed as the mythical "halo-killer" so it had the burden of too high expectations.

Its sad that it cant simply be appreciated in its own right but will always be judged along side Halo. If KZ2 had at anypoint actually "spoken" to me I would give this a whirl but sadly I am still trying to finish KZ2, where I normally jog through most games in a week or so this has been gathering dust.

Oh and before I forget.... Halo is teh AWESOME!

:p

i guess that's why i can like it as much as i do, i never thought of it as that.

i judged it by it's own merits and that's why i think the world of the series.

Like i said in that comparison of mine (Link for those who haven't read it) Since I played Halo first and never played KZ1 I am always going to relate KZ back to Halo, as halo is the stick by which I measure my console shooters.

still, i'd like to invite all folks to atleast try KZ3 aswell, rent, borrow or buy, but atleast try it hey :)

also take a whack at the mp component while you are at it

When it hits classic I'll pick it up, like KZ2. In KZ 2 the controls just pissed me off. Even after tweaking the sensitivity it was either too sensitive or not sensitive enough.

That's my problem with it, to me it was a completely forgetable experience. It played perfectly well, but it felt very generic, there was nothing that made it stand out as a console shooter apart from the fact that it looked pretty and had a half-way decent cover system.

The last boss really killed the experience for me, the whole encounter was a complete let down.

I'm more than willing to give KZ3 a shot, but it needs to pull out the stops.

That killed it for me. I bought KZ 2 Platinum the other day to play it for the first time. 30 mins in I turned it off and never bothered again.

Also can someone explain to me why it doesn't have campaign co-op online? I mean if your going to compete against Reach at least don't do a half assed attempt. Reach had 4 way online co-op. Myself and Grimspoon played through the entire campaign from start to finish co-op and it was one of the best gaming experiences ive ever had, simply coz I could share it with a good friend. Sure I replayed it solo later and it was still epic but few things measure up to co-op online with a buddy. The lack of this feature seriously hurts KZ3 i dont care what anybody says.

I also don't get the lack of co-op. I mean that should be a no brainer.

I too agree with the points made, controls aren't great in 2, hopefully 3 is better.

I was really looking foward to this, but then my PS3 decided to "red screen of death" last night. Still getting my Helghast Edition tomorrow though, don't know how I'm gonna play it.

Regarding the co-op. Killzone was never a co-op game. Resistance is the PS3's co-op FPS, not Killzone. I see no problem with the exclusion of online co-op in Killzone 3 since Resistance 3 is coming out later this year as well.

Shame dude you are not having much luck with your PS3 :(

I'm quite looking forward to tomorrow, after playing the demo I really want to play the full campaign. Then there's the multiplayer :D.
