Kinect Gunstringer Bundle - Not available in your current location

Hey Guys,

so I just bought myself a Kinect that came bundled with Kinect Adventures, Fruit Ninja and Gunstringer. The later two are downloads from the marketplace. I started with Fruit Ninja which downloaded without any problem. Then I tried Gunstringer and I get a message saying "This item is currently not available in your current location".

Anyone else had this and manage to solve it? This really gets me annoyed, they can't claim that the Kinect is bundled with Gunstringer on the box and then not allow me to download it.

Not a fix but a workaround would be to register a uk/us account and download it with that.

This workaround sounds very interesting to me. As soon as the current location is detected, from my understanding the IP address is the real problem. By creating a new account I can't see the difference when it comes to the current IP. I would suggest for this kind of problems to use a vpn connection (with some luck we could find some free vpn servers in UK/US).

Could you please give me some more information related to your workaround? I can't believe right now that MS looks only to the claimed account and not to the IP. Moreover, the registration process requires now just an email address and a country location (maybe the GMT), which are too generic.

Well, I spoke to MS today and we determined that my XBL account is set to the US and i cant change this. Created a new one for SA and will try the download again shortly.

Judging by the lack of any related threads out there, this will probably solve my problem.

For anyone who ever stumbles across this thread in the future, creating a new XBL account with my billing address set to South Africa the download went fine. The issue is my other account had the US as my billing address.
