kinect or PS Move?

Age old debate i know but bare with me guys. My girlfriend primarily likes casual games but my arsenal of games doesn't include female fun for her to participate with (her words not mine). So for the holidays i was thinking of getting ONE another console and a add-on peripheral like the Kinect or PS Move. I know she'll appreciate the platform'ey, cartoon-ish, girly games that supported by these the two controllers.

Good idea or should she just stick with bullets, explosions and general mayhem next to me? You know the good stuff.

**Personally**

both are gimmicks, you probably better off buying her a new hairdryer or something she could use.

I own both consoles but only had MOVE eventually I sold it off when the novelty wore off

I bought a Wii, played like 10 times then sold it. imo those games are not worth it unless you plan to use it often, e.g. with mates or as you mentioned your Girlfriend. Just keep in mind that you will not much from it for a long time to come. So maybe look at the cheapest option and then also what the "extras" and the Games would cost you. E.g. the XBox is one device and no remotes. Where as the Wii and PS Move is 2 Controllers per person, so it could become quite expensive.

Wait for more titles to become available, having seen both in action I think the Kinetic is way more advanced than the move. Just my opinion though.

Still got my move since launch, using it atm with resistance 3. Little Big Planet 2 has recently patched the game to play with move. There are some psn move games that can be a lot of fun.

Ever since MS E3 press conference I have new respect fit the kinect. Looks way more advanced that the move, but at the end if the day, it's the software that will make up your mind, and with the new fall dashboard, kinect looks like the better option

i dont think buying another console is a good idea, space is a bit limited see with all my games and controllers laying around:o
I have a big a$$ PC taking up my living room space and PS3 as well so i dont think a kinect will work maybe a PS Move

guys thanks alot for the info. Its clear that Kinect has allot of limitations ( game titles, space, price) so the next option is either the PS move for my console or by a Wii as nintendo as the best casual games on the market.

I will have to decide soon before i use the money to buy a Gears of War 3 fong-kong ps3 version.. lol

Dude the Move is fun, seriously. Especially for the prices of about R700! My girlfriend went with me to rAge2010 and insisted on me getting one, so i did. I ended liking it as well. Me and my mates play drinking games with it. TRUST ME, thats awesome. One thing i like about the Move is the graphics where the Kinect is all avatar based and cartoon looking graphics the Move is awesome like Sports Champions you get to play with "real" people and The Fight (which is my girlfriend's fav) is dark, grungy and awesomely realistic looking too.

The Move
Games for it are superior to those for the Kinect
Play Killzone with it and love every second of it, or buy a Kinect and force jump to a line of stationary robots in the new Kinect SW Game

Having played on both extensively (Kinect at friend and at work, Move at home), I still prefer the Move.

The Kinect is lots of fun, jumping around, bowling, etc. The Move for me, is more 'serious'. I can play a very accurate game of Tiger Woods 12, as the camera is extremely accurate and fast (60fps tracking). With the Kinect, it still feels like (and happens) that any "back and forward" motion will hit the ball forward...

I prefer the Move due to it's accuracy where it is needed, but then in games like table tennis it's fun and the accuracy has been set to be more lenient.
