Korea…South-Side By SpaWnNiNja

I would rather stay here than go there at the moment. Not while north korea is still stuck in the cold war.

Sjoe thats hectic!! sounds like the oke is having a jol over there :D

And just the culture on its own is bizzarre but I guess if they looked at ours they would probably say the same...

You do realise that SOUTH Korea is a first world country. A status South Africa cannot lay claim to.

Even if you wanted to go, would you be able to?

Wait until north korea does decide to drop a nuke on them. All they need is one very crazy man to do it. I don't like the tension that is happening at the moment. And besides my luck I would have been killed when they decided to fire artillery rounds at them.

I am in no way saying sa is better than SK.

It is a very pretty country. I met a south korean before at a chinese internet cafe.

Just one more reason to go there.

LoL T - If the North Nukes the South - I should imagine it will be game over for all of us - just that the South will go first then the North and then the rest of us.

To be honest I had never thought of visiting SK before but after reading SpaWnNiNja's post and chatting to him via pm - I would seriously consider going now - if only if its to visit the Techno Mart Destination: Techno Mart / buying a computer in Seoul ~ Chris in South Korea - travel and life in South Korea

4 of my personal friends have gone over to SK to teach English. They all absolutely love it. Very advanced country with VERY high speed broadband. Apparently 99.999185% of the country's youth are into WoW and Starcraft like we cannot begin to imagine.

Ironically the country's economy was saved by Hyundai who began a shipping transport setup there and is now in the forefront of technology there, despite us only knowing Hyundai for their supposedly B-grade cars.

Really V I never knew that i always thought that SK was always a technology advanced country.

I laughed at the reference to Samsung cars.

No not really. No body really is backing nk. I think there might be another vietnam if there is a war with them and sk,and most prob america.

I think that they might if NK was to get nuked by the West because they nuked SK - but its never going to happen so no need to worry about it.:)

And that is what the british thought with germany. Don't under estimate NK.

LoL T - I dont think even the NK's are crazy enough to either launch nukes or even try a more traditional invasion of the South

I really don't think NK is stupid enough to launch nukes, I doubt anyone really is, but I wouldn't put it entirely past them to provoke SK into making the 1st move to continue the war. Remember, technically, they are still at war, as a peace treaty was never signed.

As for China, I doubt they will get physically involved should a war break out. They will protest and make a lot of verbal noise, but will rather sit back and watch the US take hits. This will leave the US weaker financially etc and that is exactly what China would love, as they will then really go on the offensive to stake their claim as the most powerful nation on earth, financially, militarily, population wise and anything else to make themselves feel important.
