Korean PLS & IPS 27" monitors.

Hi everyone.

I have a few questions about these monitors and I would love your help :p

Firstly I have a choice:
PLS vs. IPS?

PLS:

Qustions:

1. Are those IPS panels really 10bit?
2. Will I get taxed if I ship one of those to SA?
3. Which screen has the best screen quality?

Go for the cheapest one. I have the Qnix qx2710 and can do 96hz and I must say games looks amazing. I run windows 8.1 and 2xR9-280x and play Battlefield 4 ultra @ 96FPS/96Hz. I think you will get a better answer on overclock.net as they have tons of people with experience with both monitors. hope you can get sorted. The only thing that Can make you worry a bit is the fact that it's a lottery of overclockable or not. Since you posted this on Mygaming I suspect you want to play games on it.

to answer you questions. IPS and PLS is about the same. Waht I mean by that is each has their advantages and disadvantages so read up or google ips vs pls. As for import duties it's all a hit and miss. Sometimes you pay alot sometimes not. I only paid R600 on a R3K monitor so total was R3.6K. As for are they really 10bit That again you should ask on overclock.net

What GPU do you have as I suggest nothing below a R9-280x/7970. I really hope companies can go mainstream and make screens 120hz 2560x1440 with displayport or so.


oh just one tip. Always go for matte screen cause there is to much reflection on a glossy finish and the color reproduction doesn't suffer that much

In the graphics department I think I'm ok with my GTX 780 :p

I will post this in overclock.net, but thanks for your help. I heard almost all of the Qnix ones go 96Hz+.
