KS: Divinity: Original Sin by Larian Studios LLC

i like the Wizard and the ranged fire bolt spell. but what other good ranged attacks are there? I wanted to try a "Ranger" but don't see any good attacking skills. i want my 2 main characters to be ranged, as i will then pickup a companion or henchman with ranged.

i dabbled with Rogue but found it pointless to have a sneaky character when i just want to go into fights full on.

i am happy with pyro mage as one character, but still not sure how to roll the other character :( i know i want pickpocket. i guess this is tied to Dex ?

can someone please check and post what the TALENTS and SKILLS are for the first 2 companions ? For example, if they already have blacksmithing and crafting, or pet pal and leadership, i want to know so i skip those on my characters.

Don't have both since not interested in the old hag.

Here is Jahan things:
Scientist
Far out man
Elemental affinity

He has Blacksmiths and crafting

I quite like the "POTATOE-eating peasant".
Her paranoia towards magical things is comical - since the story is about magical beings and stuff :D

Will probably swap her out once my fighter can do all the tanking.
Will post her skills and talents when I get home.

Madora:

Talents:
- Comeback kid
- Opportunist
- What a Rush

Only has two handed and man-at-arms abilities. No craftsmanship, no traits.

So many updates for this game.

-Zandalor's Trunks will now talk
-Fixed the repeating voice problem that drove everybody bananas
-Muted banter voices while in dialog or trade
-Fixed crash with open inventory/skill tree on level swap
-Removed Intro Movie loading jitter
-Disabled saving to Steam Cloud again because its size is too small for our save games. We are going to compress the save games first and then reactivate it.
-Fixed problem with UI and save games
-Fixed Silverglen bad script crash
-Fixed problems with preview window in editor
-Fixed problems with game not starting after changing main campaign data with editor

I don't know if I'm the only one, but I couldn't figure out the crafting system at all. The only thing I could do was make a potion and arrows. Here's a rather good video explaining the basic crafting recipes:

Busy finishing up the quests in and around Cyseal and getting ready to head out to the next area. Wow, this game has a lot of content. Cyseal probably took me 20 hours and I'm level 10.

Experiment all the ingredients!!!

I normally just throw edible stuff into the fire and thought that was it XD

This game's depth is amazing :D

In case anyone was wondering, there is a respec available for your 2 main characters shortly after completing Cyseal. So if you've screwed up and wasted talents, you can always fix it later.

A bit off topic, but it's still the top seller on Steam. This makes me happy, and bodes well for the future kickstarted cRPG's.

My only gripe so far is that combat is getting a bit samey. I've got to the point where I'm not afraid anymore, I don't die often and I'm using the same tactics over and over, it's bascailly just summon oil and flare, or summon rain and lightning bolt, or summon fire and poison ect. When that respec comes only I think I'll do it just to change to different magic schools.

I didn't even think of doing this, you'll come across a small crypt a bit later on. It's not part of any main quests, it's just there. I tried clicking on it, but nothing happened, so I moved on. Helpful advice (highlight):What you actually need to do is click and 'push' it until it opens completely. I'm guessing this will apply to all big tombs in crypts in later levels.

Anyone else noticed a lack of Marksmen skills. The only offensive ones of found so far is ricochet and mute. The different arrow heads are cool, but unless there are more to be discovered, I have a feeling it'll also get old quick.

I also use the oil+ fire and rain+bolt combo, but they enemy is still kicking my butt - I had to turn the difficulty to normal lol.

I'm still in Cyseal with still a lot of quests left to do. Which is a good thing :D
What level are you?

I find the different arrow heads offer enough variety to a marksman.
Set an enemy on fire, then slam a poison arrow into him for a blast. Or shoot a fire arrow into a poison zombie and watch it go boom.
Electrify groups of enemy in the rain, shatter armour then watch the knight's giant two handed axe swing for 150 damage (no joke, Madora hits hard!.. or maybe because of the axe)

The marksmen skills seem to favour a more supportive play.

I'm playing on normal, no way I was going to attempt hard on my first try.

I'm level 8, almost at level 9. I've basically finished Cyseal, just some small quests I still need to complete.

I bought some more skills for my party, and it's better now. Got some summons for my Geo/Pyro mage. Got new offensive spells for my Aero/Hydro mage. Bought the barrage and mute skills for the archer, and gave her more crafting to make arrows.

It's actually more fun now because I just stack effects on enemies. It must suck being frozen, muted and stunned all at the same time :D

EDIT: This is an excellent crafting guide. Finally a use for all those blank skill books I have. Now I don't need to buy the skills anymore. The crafting system is actually very cool, but the way the game explains it is lackluster. I also wish you had a crafting room in the homestead with everything there.

If you don't want to waste points for crafting on your main party, buy a henchman and make him your crafting buddy. I'm doing that now and it's so much better. Add him to the party when I need him, remove him when I don't.

without revealing any spoilers, i need a bit of advice regarding the route to go. i am around level 3, close to 4. here is an update of my Murder Investigations thus far, along with question (text in white below to avoid spoilers) :

i have uncovered Evelyn as murderer and inspected her house in town. i got the location of her shack on my map. the only way there appears to be WEST via the beach. but that leads me through a huge pack of orcs at level 6-8 who will deicimate me. but the other doors all appear to be too high level as well, as guards warn me. so western beach door must be the way to evelyns lair ,right ? do i just need to battle thru orc squad ? or am i meant to level up elsewhere first ?

Spoiler:

You have to go North East to get to Evelyn's hut, You'll only need to fight skeletons and zombies and boars as I recall, they are level 5 though, so try exploring to the north first. No need to fight any orcs just yet.

Folks, just a heads up, when you view this on Tapatalk, all spoilers are shown. The hiding the text in white doesn't pull through.

Holy crap. I'm only on the second area and I've already got 40 hours in. The amount of content in this game is insane.

This is the best value for money I've gotten from a videogame in a long time.
