KwaZulu-Natal premier spent R1.2 million on flights

Former KwaZulu-Natal premier Zweli Mkhize used 45 chartered planes and helicopters at a cost of R1.2 million between 2010-13, The Star reported on Thursday.

This was reportedly said by current premier Senzo Mchunu and provincial director general Nhlanhla Ngidi in response to questions posed by the Democratic Alliance in the provincial legislature earlier this month.

I don't see why they can't set a standard for flights. If the distance travelled is greater than 300km then take a plane and if less then the ticket shouldn't be refunded. Just setting a standard will stop this crap instead of leaving it for ministers to decide.
