Okay so I've been thinking, I have enough cash to buy a new game and I want to make a choice between LA Noire and Brink and I'm a bit uncertain about which one would be the better buy. From what I've heard, both are looking very good and the release date is nearing so what opinions are there on which is the better game?

La Noir is made by Rockstar, so its going to be guaranteed win, brink looks fun, but probably not going to be as awesome if you look at Splash Damage's past games

They both look brilliant but if you had to choose one I'd go for L.A Noire.

Given Rockstars reputation, it is bound to be an excellent game and I'm pretty sure it'll be a longer game than Brink, offering more "playtime" for your money.

Maybe we lucky and when they release the MyG store will give us R200 off of each like with Operation flashpoint"whistling:

Going for LA Noire, Brink will be a 2nd purchase later on for me because I've really been enjoying the new Rockstar games. Busy playing through Red Dead and LA Noire is just going to be better after that :P

RDR (Red Dead Redemption) was a complete waist of time and energy and had several glaring issues even post patch. If I had to base my decision purely on who the devs are I would go Brink mostly due to the lack luster RDR.

As for playtime, brink features 2 separate campaigns and since the entire experience can be played either alone, co-op or online with 16 other people the replay value, in theory, is nearly infinite.

L.A Noire is going to be like Heavy Rain, utterly brilliant game that is over looked because not everybody is going to get it.

I will be getting Both, but while I have high expectations for Brink, I am going into L.A Noire with cautious optimism.

I will go with AngryJoes thoughts on La Noire, its a brilliant concept, hopefully they don't dumb it down to be glaringly obvious ie the facial expressions.

You are absolutely correct about RDR. In fact, it was so lacklustre that it won numerous GOTY awards. :p

RDR is brilliant and L.A. Noire will be as well, but I vote Brink because I love the art style and the customization.

Story was good, I'll give you that but just coz a couple of million people worship a turd doesn't make it anything more than a turd. Numerous bugs, glitches and other annoying issues stopped it far short of being the game it could have been.

L.A Noire is less sandbox and alot more structured so, heres hoping they manage to release it bug free.

Brink because La Noire is only on console FFS!
I say both actually, because even though rockstar have confirmed that La Noire won't be on PC, it's still worth it to buy for console and then I will also buy Brink for PC!! :) so it's a win win either way...

But the problem with that statement is that RDR is not a turd. It was absolutely mind blowing. It might be your opinion (which you are entirely entitled to) that it was a turd, but millions of people have a different opinion.

Yep my opinion & in my opinion RDR skated past on the merit of the devs pedigree, from an actual game play point of view it did almost nothing new and had any other developer released something that buggy they would have been tarred and feathered, much like Terryarch was post black flops but since its rockstar everybody wan't to line up and kiss its ass. It was average title with average gameplay, an average story and did nothing for the medium that GTA IV didn't do a few years back.

This does not mean L.A Noire will suffer the same fate but like I said before, I will remain cautiously optimistic until i've played it and judged it for myself.

I didn't enjoy GTA IV as much as I would have liked. The whole GF and BFF phoning you every five seconds to hang out so that you keep them happy was beyond irritating. I'm hoping that they'll leave that out of Noir like they did with RDR.

Totally agree with you. Why on earth would I want to have a gf or a friend in a game?

Simple, L.A. Noire :D!
I think L.A. Noire will give you more bang for buck and it is a new concept so it will be refreshing. Also Rockstart take care of their games so I don't expect too many bugs.

Brink, well I dunno. I said I would get it on PC to jam with Tooken but other than that I just don't know. It's also a new concept but I fear that it will be a bit clunky and unresponsive with all that is going on. Just my thoughts but that is what is keeping me back from buying it for the PS3 (Rather waster R300 than R600).

If you can get both, no need to think about it. But if you can only afford one then I do think L.A. Noire is the better choice.
