Having now finished the Homicide Desk its losing its appeal. I might just be me but the plots, over all and per case, seems to strung along. Like they have a carrot on a string and your the ass blundering on behind it. I understand that its trying to capture the feeling of the great Noir era films but only one possible ending to every case, a series of evidence so selected as to lead you inevitably to the "right perp." Why can't i go back to a location, re-question witnesses, search more than just the hand full of meticulously selected "evidence", why can't I go down to technical services for a detailed breakdown of a certain piece of evidence or go to the coroners office and speak to him a bit? Heavy Rain produced a better, more intriguing plot and while it also had many shortcomings at least I felt like I was putting the pieces together, heck i could, and did, get some of them wrong and there where consistences. That I liked. As I am yet to finish this I'll reserve final judgement for then for now, a valiant first attempt that clearly has loads of potential.
