LAN gaming favourites

Ok, me and my friends sometimes have our own little LAN but it seems everytime we get together we spend on average 4 hours figuring out which game to play :wtf:, some people dont like certain games, so i need to improve my collection, so to make life easier I would like to get an idea of other peoples favourite LAN games (there's no internet at this LAN so nothing that requires online activation etc).

Any help would be great :D

There are a bunch of Steam games that you can play which you can turn to offline mode. Magicka springs to mind but just depends on the type of games that people like that are most common.
 
For me a little lan ( less that 8 people ) it is the most fun to play co op games. The competitive level between friends is too extreme and almost every game you play will see 1 player dominate and leave several people frustrated.

Good games i can vouch for being fun has to be


-The Serious sam titles was the most fun ive had in co-op in ages,
-Another game ( you need xp for this or have the luck of 10 billion leave clovers to get it working on vista or 7 ) is Freelancer Old but brilliant space flying game. DON'T STEAL LOOT OR YOU WILL MOER EACH OTHER!!!

- Rainbow 6 titles
- swat 4 ( give it a try and thank me later )
- BORDERLANDS
- Daiblo 2 Sacred Gold/2 or Dungeon siege

2 player co - op

Gears of war
Resident evil 5 ( one has to be the chick don't emasculate your friend be the man and take the girl )


If you have to play vs each other.

Good old command and conquer generals Zero hour.

get cards with duplicate numbers 1 1 2 2 3 3 4 4

Draw in a hat and draw team mates

that way it is random and fun :D

team up choose random starting points for super chaos and off you go.
 
Borderlands, yes much fun. :)

If you can get a console, couple of fun co-op games on there. :)

I like this one! 3 Very fun multiplayer lan friendly games.

Another one that everyone seems to forget about is Mechwarrior: Living Legends, they just released a new version of it, and it's like a all out FPS war game. If you are enough at the lan there's tanks, jets, ground forces and then mechs. The fun just never ends in that game.

Also another classic with our lans is baboviolent 2! Great music, loads of very fast easy fun.

There's nothing like that available. There is a hack somewhere to play the co-op and survival. But you are limited to 2 people at all times. You won't see a lan server released. So sorry for you but it's not going to happen.
 
so no one said it yet, there's still good ole Warcraft 3 and it's tons of custom maps.
From Dota to Hero Siege to Line Wars....lotsa fun maps.

Also 2nd'ing

- [PC] Diablo/Titan Quest like games (3 - 6 players I think)
- [PC] Quake and the like (UT, S.Sam) (er...lotsa players max)
- [XBOX] Castle Crashers (4 player max)
- [Console/PC] Bomberman (8 players max)....very fun, but will more than likely last 30 - 60min
- everything else everyone mentioned

I also agree with Mr. Wizard, if it's for a weekend and you enjoy strategy games, you MUST play CIV5. It's absolutely brilliant. Playing team games is a blast. :)
