If anybody could please help me with this one.

So what you looking for a dedicated server to run those games?

Since you could just create a game and let all your buddies join the game.

You don't need servers for any RTS games. A person creates a game, waits for the lobby to fill up, and than start.

Yes, but when there is 6 -8 players on C&C 3 the game starts to get slow, not our computers, we are running high end Specs, we work in a office were managment has agreed to provide us with a gaming server for our games, so now I'm looking for one. Yes Dedicated, but it has to run from our office.

Well than you need to get a bigger hub and faster net cables. There generaly aren't any "Host" servers on RTS games. everybody sends all the relevant info to everybody elce in the game.

All your C&C needs will be here. You might need an account to download something. If you can't find it there then try fileshack or gamershell or gamespot.

As for the game getting slow it has to do with bad multiplayer coding. I remember this was true in red alert 3 not sure about C&C
What you can try is to set all the unit detail or terain detail on low on all the pc's. Or check that someone is not copying files and doing stuff over the network you playing on.

None of those games have dedicated server software. RTS games in general use basic P2P networking, one person acts as the host (generally the person who creates the game) and everyone else sends/receives their game data through that host. We may see that change in the near future with Heroes of Newerth showing how dedi servers are a massive step up in connectivity for the RTS genre.

You basically just need to ensure the host has the best PC and sufficient bandwidth. Bandwidth shouldn't be a problem in a 10mb or better network with only 6-10 players. In some games (C&C), other peoples computers (other than the host) slowing down can result in everyone's game slowing down as game tries to keep synched up on everyone's machine.

If your going to play other games, especially FPSs, then a dedi server box in your office could be awesome. Each game normally has the server software released with it or available as a download on the game's website, often for both wndows and *nix systems.
