Hey not sure if this is the right place to advertise this. We hosting a LAN party R80 gets you a seat.

You can also find us on facebook. We just want to create a LAN were people can come and have an awesome time ladies very welcome. Braai on friday night.

This is in pretoria Queenswood, we can support 180 gamers with a gigabyte network. Please book a seat so we know how many tables and stuff to get. if the booking is full send us a message and we will make more seats available.
 
I remember when LAN was still the thing when i couldn't afford internet and most games still had LAN support.good times.

A SC2 lan would be better if you have a DLink router for 20 PC's and the host has a uncapped internet connection.Since everyone will be so close to each other there will almost be no lag.
 
Yeah that would be awesome, we are looking into this kinda thing. but very difficult if you having a lan with 180 computers to provide a internet connection. Our lans are like 80 people or so. You make friends at lans then u organise a private lan at someones house who has uncapped. 20 people on one connection might cause some lag issues, not sure on this but since it is a rts should not matter too much.

You just need enough b/w to contact the auth server. So even a 4mbps should theoretically be fine if it is distributing the b/w fairly. i.e. just hard limit everyone to 5KB/s.

Or get a list of IPs needed to auth & firewall block everything else.
 
next lan is this weekend 11-12th march. We are getting closer to a full house every month. 80 people or so. we will expand as the numbers grow. check out the website for more details. www.fragarena.co.za
