Ok so I am having the Lan the first weekend of April.
COD4 ONLY! NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING ELSE.
I am trying to balance it out, ideally I want an 8 player Lan so we can have 4vs 4, as we are only going to have one or 2 free for all maps.
We are playing a mod, I am using the ACE mod. ALL that I changed from the normal COD4 gameplay is:
Hardcore Instant spawn, no 10 second delay.
Announcer sounds (taken from UT) like First Blood etc.
No voting whatsoever.
We are going to be playing alot of custom maps in addition to the stock ones. I have about 70 in total, but I filtered out all the good ones so we are left with about 20 Custom maps including 2 of my own
What we will do is play one or 2 Free for all maps and then split the teams according to scores, so it's nice and balanced out.
I am also running a little SQL lite program that records all the stats from all the players. Total kills, deaths, points, suicides, accuracy etc etc.
WHat I am trying to do is not like your average LAN, I am really trying like a mini competitive session of sorts.
Since I got my lan buddies to play TDM COD4 and Domination its about all they want to do, so I was thinking if we pitch in 3 or 4 other really good players we might end up with something that's gonna work well!
