Lannable games

Hey guys

I have a pretty big LAN coming up and was just wondering what good lannable games we can play? preferably recent games if possible.

We have the obvious games like blur, all the lannable CoDs, counterstrike, L4D 1+2, crysis and dead island... any other suggestions?

Anyways.... try Rainbow 6 Vegas 2.... epic.... 4 player co-op Terrorist Hunt on Realistic difficulty.
Also Split Second? Trackmania? And out of nowhere... a warcraft 3 map not titled DotA.... but... ENFOS!!!!(Join up with friends and see how long you can survive it :D)...
 
Na not OC hey, a friend and i host a yearly LAN for all our mates at his place and thanks for the suggestions :D
 
This is what is becoming of LAN parties. Resorting to playing old games. Basically all game pre-MW2 I think. Oh sure, new games have "lan" support, but only if you have internets. Uhm, folks, that's not a LAN game.

As for suggestions, try Battlefield 2 if you are enough players. I think Half Life 2 TDM might also work.

Id like to invite you guys to add your lan party to http://www.lancentral.co.za , its free to everyone and i hope one day this will be the go-to website for anyone to see where theres a lan in SA . Even if your hosting a lan at your house in some small town somewhere or hosting a massive lan at a school , anyone is welcome to add their lan event. 100% free to everyone.

Sad about lan games... they are only old games now, thanks to the 'new' way of thinking, we will never see Battlefield 3, Crysis 2, Heroes of Newerth (except for a buggy cracked ported version) being played at lans without any internet connection...

Its become pointless to go to lans, as I dont play Modern Warfare, others I know just want to play CSS (which I will join), others just want DOTA... but really these old games are getting stale.

Sadly because of this, its just better to stay at home and play online.
 
Still play ENFO at my cousin's place now and then. My PC with an ATI 4850 use to laaaaag by the last wave! Lost planet 2 also nice for some 4 player co-op.

Alien vs Predator 2
Vietcong
Dirt 2
Team Fortress 2 (with the lan patches etc)
UT2004 with the RPG mod, small epic mod that introduces RPG elements. Character leveling, magical weapons etc.

I was thinking along the same lines.

When I read "LAN" as in buddies together with beers and chips etc. iow not online MP, my first thought was: CounterStrike 1.6, Bf2 & the likes thereof.
 
Yeah very sucky that they wanna kill the LAN option coz it supposedly creates more piracy... kak man it creates exposure... StarCraft is all I will say...

EDIT: DIRT3!!!!! OMG!!! EPIC FUN!!!!! CTF Car Version.... all of this while you sukkel to control a drift spec car.
 
Haha thanks for all the feedback guys! and i agree 100% that its kak that we have to resort to old games for LAN play... thanks as well for the suggestions as well. gonna give dirt 3 a bash, team fortress lan as well and i have the LAN version of HoN by Sordit.. will give that a go as well :D

You can try starfriend if you want to LAN Starcraft 2. try the latest and 0.68 as that was last stable version.
 
these suggestions seem very good since I too host a lan on a bi monthly basis at my work.
But also what games are good to lan on entry level laptop - read older games. I was thinking something like GTA2, any other suggestions.
Needs to work with Windows 7
 
Serious Sam - anyone of them is good to jam around in - uber fun!
AVP also a nice old school fun game which mixes it up a bit with the alien/predator/marine to choose from.
Joint Ops - can go in as a large team against bots - objective based.
Battlefield (from 1942 to BF2)
COD 4 (maybe with some of the mods)
UT2004
Burnout 2 - this is fun for doing races and stunts against eachother
 
OC made a way for SC2 tourneys at LAN, they have wireless internet and they open ports to only allow SC2 and if played on LAN it uses less bandwidth.
 
If you want a change of pace I can highly recommend Age of Wonders 2: Shadow Magic. It's a turn based strategy set in a fantasy world. There's a lot of custom scenarios that you can lan and once you get into it it'll take you through the night.
 
Oh and theres Sins which I've never really played but I've seen it looks interesting and normally last roughtly the whole LAN or 6 years, which ever comes first..
 
One of the most fun LAN games I play at every lan is GTA IV or EFLC. Awsome and k@k funny in free mode hitting people across the city with a choppers propellers(Dunno how to spel that) and just driving around with 6 stars behind you. Also other modes to play that are really very fun. It can take up to 16 people I think. :D
