So i'm about to order and start work on my first gaming centric rig, I've figured out all the parts and don't need help with that, what i need help with is a case!
I preferably want a lanning type case, easily portable etc. So a mid sized case as the motherboard im getting isn't micro atx.
I've decided so far on getting the Coolermaster Storm Scout

Just want to know if it's a decent case? And if it's something i could expand on in the future?
But any other suggestions are welcome so long as it's under R1 000

Thanks

Send a pm to The Joker and he will be able to sort you out with something good at a decent price. He also knows a lot about cases and his prices are very good. He is the resident pc shop here after all lol

A scout...Not great...
I've modified a couple of those...the main issue with the scout is the small interior.
5870 Doesn't even fit in a Scout, you're better off looking at the Bitfenix Survivor.

Simon you the man..Thanx :)

Thanks for the help joker
Would a gtx 550ti fit the CM?... the bitfenix would be more expensive to get to PE though unfortunatly

Oh yeah a GTX550TI will def fit in the scout, its only really the higher end cards that have a problem.
Also it might have a handle but a scout is quite heavy, so be warned :D

Just be careful on buying something like a case purely based on what you currently have. Cases are meant to last you a long time and when you start factoring in what you will want down the line you will have to worry about the case you choose to buy now, would it be big enough to handle the ATI 10 million or Nvidia 2?

That's true Simon, I'll deffinatly put some thought into it before i deffinatly buy..
Thanks for the help Joker!

Yea i was looking at getting that one. Not getting a M-ATX board though :/ .... Would make lanning a lot easier though given its small size haha :D

coolermaster elite 310 or 420 ... wont break the bank and can fit a 5970 i believe ... also its under 6kg total weight casing alone.

Elite 430 is by far the best small case and it takes ATX boards and yes it fits a 5970, I know cause I ran one in a RC 430.
Main issue with that case...its bad for heat...as in really bad...

I've got a Antec Lanboy.

1. It's awesome. No frills and sorted out my cooling issues. :D
2. It's not a case you can carry in the one hand and a screen in the other because it's too big and heavy. But it does have handles. (HANDY!)
3. Almost anything fits inside, and it's HDDs swap quite easily.
4. When lanning, it will be very easy to steal your parts from this case. (If you hang with those type of friends).

It was R1200 at Esquire yesterday. But I got mine at Take2 for R1400. (Negotiated :))

Edit: Think about long term. A case can easily be re-used in a couple of years to fit your newest PC.
